The Adventures of the Magical Elf
Once upon a time there was a magical elf who lived in a rainbow tree. He lived downstairs to a rude old dwarf who always played his music really loud. One day the elf could take no more so he went and rapped on the loud dwarf's door and told him to turn it down! The dwarf didn't want to because he really liked his music, so the magical elf grabbed a mic that was lying there and picked it up, plugged it into the amp, and started rapping. And he said: "I went to the bakery and bought some bread. I took some meat and I took some lead. On the bread I put the meat and on the lead I dropped a sick hard beat!" Then he dropped the mic. The dwarf, enchanted by the elf's rap, had a change of heart and turned down the volume. They became best friends and they traveled across the country rapping really loud songs. They made lots of money and when they got back from their trip, they bought themselves a really expensive rainbow tree. They upgraded their rainbow to a double-action cutting-edge three-and-a-half-handed weapon of dazzling beauty, which they used to save the local village from the overly racist dragon named Albi. And they all lived happily ever after. The End.

Sunday School is a special school
For my research paper, I am going to research and write about the foundation of the Sunday School in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am related to a man by the name of Richard Ballantyne. He lived in the 1800's and after being converted to the Church, he got permission to start the Sunday School. It should be pretty cool to learn about its history and that my family played a huge part in setting up and running the Sunday School.
Richard was born in Scotland and it'll be great to do some more research into him and see how the Lord prepared him for setting up the Sunday School. He was a convert and came to America and started his life as a member of the Church helping in so many ways.
Not having done much in the way of research yet, I am not fully aware to what extent Richard went to follow the Church and what he actually did in his life and then to what extent the Sunday School went to stay alive in the hard times of the church.
--------------------
Scratch all that stuff said above, I've changed my topic. Now I am going to write about why the Mormon Battalion was needed. I have been researching a little bit and I found a source or two so far that talk about that need.
My research question is: What sparked the need for the Mormon Battalion?
Some of my keywords or main concepts are: Mormons, Battle, Mormon Battalion
Others are: Mormon, War, America, Recruit, Draft, Volunteer, Mexican-American War, James K Polk, Charles Bent Hancock (my ancestor), Battalion, Brigham Young, LDS Church

General Conferece
General Conference is always a good experience and this time was no different. Watching it in English without having to worry about investigators or anything other than myself was very nice. The talks were great.
I really liked how the Prophet got up and just talked about how simple it is to be blessed in the sense that he just said to keep the commandments. How hard is that? It's easy to say and I'm sure we all have some sort of desire to keep the commandments, but it is challenging. However, when I see the blessings that come from following the commandments of God, and the blessings that come, I find it easier to follow the commandments even more because of the strength that comes from doing what He says.
Another talk that I like was by Larry Lawrence and what he said about "What lack I yet?". I really liked that because there is always something we can do to improve, because no matter how much we don't want to admit it, we are not perfect and literally cannot be in this life. What we can do, however, is improve and try our best, whatever that may be, to be more like our Savior.
